Privacy policy

The principle: no collection

This is a static content site. It has no user accounts and no comment space:we collect no personal data, with the single exception of the email address you may choose to give us through the spring tide reminder form, described below.

Spring tide reminders (newsletter)

An optional form lets you receive a reminder ahead of each equinox spring tide.Sole purpose: sending you those reminders. Never advertising, never sharing your address. Subscription uses double opt-in: it only takes effect once you confirm by email. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every message; your address is then deleted.

The service is operated by our processor Buttondown, to which the form submits your address directly; this site keeps no copy. The processor's privacy policy:buttondown.com. To exercise your rights (access, rectification, deletion), write to[email protected].

Cookieless audience measurement

Traffic is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless solution with no individual identifiers: no consent banner is required and no profile is built.

Outbound links and partners

Activity links lead to our affiliate partner GetYourGuide (the only active programme to date). It applies its own privacy policy, which we invite you to read. These links carry a partner identifier and a campaign parameter added to the URL, allowing GetYourGuide to attribute a booking to this site; that is all that is measured: our site sets no cookies, tracks no clicks on our side, and transmits no personal data about you.

The comparator's "Hotel website" links point to the establishments' official sites: they are not affiliated and carry no tracking parameters.

SHOM widget

Official tide times are displayed through a widget hosted by SHOM (maree.shom.fr); its loading is subject to SHOM's own privacy policy.

OpenStreetMap base map

The map page displays a base map served by the OpenStreetMap Foundation's servers (tile.openstreetmap.org), with no cookies or trackers. Tiles are only loaded when you visit the map page: your IP address is then transmitted to those servers, as with any web resource, under the OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy.
